A46 Essential Maintenance and Survey Works

Added on 09 December 2021

Highways England logoHighways England will be carrying out essential drainage maintenance on the A46 between Stanton on the Wolds and Bingham.

The works will relieve the drainage blockages caused by debris including silts, leaves and roots. These blockages can cause the surface water to back up the system, through the drainage chambers and onto the carriageway.

Once completed, road users will benefit from improved road safety.

When will the work take place?

Work is due to start on Wednesday 15 December 2021 and they anticipate it will be completed by the end of February 2022.

They will be working from 8pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. They’ll pause work over the Christmas period from 24 December 2021 and restart in the new year on Wednesday 5 January 2022.

Please note that planned work is subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

How will the work affect traffic?

All carriageways will be open, as usual, outside of working hours.

How will the work affect businesses and residents?

They will ensure that access to businesses and residences is maintained wherever possible.
