PLUMTREE PARISH COUNCIL
NOTICE OF COUNCILLOR VACANCY TO BE FILLED BY CO-OPTION

Plumtree Parish Council has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor.

The Parish Council is seeking applications from eligible members of the community who are interested in serving as a Parish Councillor and helping to represent the interests of local residents.

Are you eligible?
To be considered for co-option, you must:

·       Be at least 18 years of age.

·       Be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland.

·       Meet at least one of the following qualifications:

o   Be registered as a local government elector for the parish; or

o   Have occupied, as owner or tenant, land or other premises in the parish during the whole of the previous 12 months; or

o   Have had your principal or only place of work in the parish during the previous 12 months; or

o   Have lived in or within three miles of the parish during the previous 12 months.

How to apply
Anyone wishing to be considered for co-option should submit a brief written expression of interest outlining:

·       Why you would like to become a Parish Councillor.

·       Any relevant skills, experience or local knowledge you could bring to the Council.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 15th July

Applicants will be invited to attend the Parish Council meeting on Monday 20th July at which the co-option will be considered.
